Consultation On Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health Regulations 2002 (As Amended)

Revision of all health and safety legislation, guidance and Acops continues as the HSE implements the Tory-led coalition government's aim of slashing legislation, amending existing, and making all health and safety documentation from the HSE simpler for businesses to understand!

This latest consultation (CD259) is regarding the Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health Regulations 2002 (As Amended)

The consultative document below seeks views on HSE’s proposed revised version of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended) Approved Code of Practice (ACOP).  The consultation seeks views on the content of the revised ACOP.

The key changes include:

* Revision of the text to make it easier for duty holders to understand and comply with their legal duties;

* Revision of the text to take account of the introduction of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP);

* Moving information on the principles of good control practice from an annex to the guidance associated with Regulation 7;

* Clarification of the requirements of Regulation 9, relating to thorough examination and test of control measures.
